Vinci Wins £12m Bristol Cathedral Conversion

Vinci Construction has won the job to convert a former Catholic Cathedral into high-end student accommodation. The Pro Cathedral was the Roman Catholic Cathedral in Bristol between 1850 and 1973 then after the design and construction of a new Cathedral in Clifton, the building became home of the Bristol Steiner School until they vacated the premises in 2002.
Now the complex project to deliver 229 student units and will involve the construction of a new building comprising a large concrete frame and the part refurbishment of the existing grade II* listed
Bristol Pro Cathedral, with a structured steel frame erected internally.
Chris Pape, southern region building boss, said: “We welcome the unique challenge that the transformation of the Bristol Pro-Cathedral will provide for Vinci Construction UK.

Student Castle to ensure that all works are finished to the highest standard on this unique building.”
